I particularly liked the main part of the story which was set in the sixties - reminiscent of TV's 'Life on Mars', which the book, of course, preceded.I also got a strong sense of place with the Derbyshire setting. Oddly enough, there is a Lord of the Manor village quite near us here in Sussex. A side road from the A27 leads into this village, but doesn't come out again.....
