Earth Inc.

By Mike Bollen
Photo: Illustrative image for the 'Earth Inc.' page

A wonderfully funny, satirical novel which offers a hilarious take on our planet and its consumerist inhabitants. Dated beyond 2050, Bollen offers a recrafted version of the Earth, tailor made to your needs. The entire venture is generously brought to you by Softcom, Best-Co, Okay Cola and O'Connels Burgers! The book Earth Inc. will appeal to all Terry Pratchet, Douglas Adams and Grant Naylor fans. Aptly described as the Hitchhiker's Guide to Globalisation!

Comments/reviews:

This is a wonderfully funny, lighthearted read with a deeper message. So many parallels were drawn throughout the book to the sillier side of human nature as well as the social inequalities we see worldwide and the growing power of corporations. I found myself laughing out-loud on numerous occasions, while being aware of the more serious messages that were underlying.
The future technologies were totally believable and the concept of the hum ants getting hooked on reality TV was genius.
As I read it I couldn't help thinking what a good film it would make.
I would recommend this book to anyone who likes fiction of any description.
