A moving coming-of-age tale from a talented new author.

Amy is a thirteen-year-old champion swimmer. When she and her best friend Sophie meet with an accident one day, Amy's life changes dramatically. Amy's story of how she comes to terms with Sophie's death and with the consequences of her accident is told with sensitivity and humour. In hospital, Amy makes friends with quirky Harry, and begins to feel more positive. Her relationship with her parents is changing too, and the family's move from Nottingham to Brighton heralds a new start. Amy starts swimming again and triumphs in a competition - she has come full circle, and we have cried and laughed with her all the way.

Comments/reviews:

I think that this book was so good that they should make a film out of it, my dad agreed and he is a film director!

I think that the book is amazing, it is fantastic to read and is my number 1 by miles. I have a best friend called Amy and my name is Sophie so it is a big coincidence. I have to do a book review at school this week and I am definitely doing it on this one. I thoroughly encourage people to read it.
Thanks,
Sophie

I really enjoyed this book because it is different to others, I really wasn't expecting the lorry to kill Sophie, and it really showed that Amy was loyal to swimming.

I would recomend this book to ages 11-15 because there are alot of attractions throughout the book that will interest a lot of individuals.

This was a really good read.
For people who find it hard or boring to read (like me) I recommend this book. Fun exciting sad and adventurous.

It's a great book to fill the time.
