Queenspark Calendar 2007

From now until Christmas QueenSpark volunteers will be found manning a stall every Saturday at the
Upper Gardner Street market. For many years QueenSpark ran a regular Saturday market stall at Upper Gardner Street, so this marks a return to its roots. The main reason for the stall is to showcase Queenspark's 2007 Calendar:The Lost Streets of Brighton.

This unique calendar features original 1950s photographs (licenced by Brighton History Centre) of Brighton streets, pre slum clearance. Many of the streets featured either no longer exist or have changed beyond recognition.  The calendar is a remarkable document of the city's changing landscape and allows affordable public access to a set of photographs that have previously been unavailable. They were featured in one of Queenspark's bestselling titles, published in collaboration with the Lewis Cohen Urban Studies Centre: Backstreet Brighton (now out of print).
