Whether considered a writer of science fiction, fantasy or surrealism, Jeff Noon is best known for placing the setting of his novels in various versions of his home city, Manchester. Having been synonymous with Manchester for so long, Noon decided there was only so much one writer could say about one location and, feeling like he had said all there was to say about the city, he relocated to Brighton in 2000 in search of a new muse. Enjoying the artistic scene and sense of community Brighton offers, Noon shows no plans of leaving any time soon.
