Queenspark Books
Born in Brighton (1891) Harry Cowley was a Brighton chimney sweep who became a local legend. In the 1930s he fought against Mosley's fascists. He battled with local government on behalf of pensioners, market traders, the homeless and the unemployed.
When Harry died in 1971, his body was laid in state at St Peter's Church. More than 500 people attended his funeral to pay tribute to the man they called 'the Guv'nor'.
