Beginnings of a Paper Chain? Book Bound: the story of a passionate reader

It was a story like no other. It was enticing, captivating, an allure of colour and texture. It was love, passion, danger, death. Fleeing from all that was acknowledged before, Jessica was caught in a world of wonder. Lost in awe. Paralysed by internal movement. She was no longer a nimble, plucky, yet boisterous, child. Far from it; she was nearer the grave than the cradle, but she was ALIVE again.
Her eyes burned like volcanic lava searing into the pages. There was no perceived or conscious blinking nor turning of the page, even, to signify her psyche remained attached to her physical being. Her heart could have stopped beating, it would have seemed inconsequential. There was nothing that mattered more at that moment than continuing on that journey, continuing, not onward, but forever inward.
Words, and only words, had induced this euphoria. The adrenalin. The emotion. The spirit. All were within easy reach. Jessica was now on a different astral plane altogether. There was anticipation, fear and dread - though she was drenched in climactic excitement too. She wrestled with the need. She attempted to push away the want. She knew resistance was futile, she was free-falling and nothing was going to stop the enevitable. She would soon hit the ground at such a velocity that this parallel world, like the two-way mirror it was, would shatter, the pieces never to be looked upon in quite the same way again.
"No", she pleaded. She did not want it to be true, not after her staunch commitment to every single word, the sacrifice of stealing time away from precious pursuits and allowing inhibitions the intensity of involvement. Suddenly, it was there in black and white. Staring her in the face as the page was turned. Irrefutable. Irreversible. It was.....
The End.
Clinty Writes : Oh the luxuriousness of that feeling of being completely intoxicated by a book! And the absolute wickedness of reaching that final paragraph! I look forward to eagerly reading your website as it progresses. Good luck to you and all the creative ones in Brighton & Hove!
